as i was saying in the "Introduce Yourself" thread, i wandered into a genre of music known as IDM or Intelligent Dance Music, as opposed to ignorant dance music. i hooked up with an IDM forum with close to 50,000 members. there are about a dozen sub genres in the IDM world.

some of the commercially successful artists are;

Bluesberry asked me, and i quote, "What the heck is IDM, got any examples of yours to share?"

and then lg asks, "Love to hear your examples...."

Interesting sound, really off the wall, but kinda get the vibe.

This really does sound like the microcosm. Insectlike, operating on a different level to us. I took the liberty to slow this down and knock it down 2 octaves to hear it at a human pace & pitch. I was expecting a dance track but it was something totally different. The phrasing was like speech, but still like insects . Great concept. Great piece of aural art

Always interesting to hear what you come up with.  This one sounds a bit like Autechre‘s more avant-garde material.   I notice you have listed Boards of Canada in the links - in my opinion the best band to come out of Scotland.

i tried the same thing and found it to be a very interesting affect. might even do something based on that whole concept.

Autechre's is one of the artists i didn't mention that has influenced my palate, but i still come back to Jazz, my first love.
