Hard Landing - Song A Week 2010 - 26

I'm halfway. I have a rougher version but didn't post it here. This one is very quickly done. It's missing real guitars and the singing is the first take except for the bridge. So it's a shoddy effort but still better than the rough first version

I know it's wrong
I'm glad you're gone
You're like a chain holding me
Now you're gone and I'm free

You're like a drug to me
Whenever you're around
Another needle in my arm
And I'm heading for the ground
Hard Landing

It's been ten days
Since you betrayed
I'm wide awake in the night
A blade of steel held so tight

Chorus

I do what you're wanting me to do
I wish I didn't love you-

My eyes held shut
Salt in the cut
I can't help but think of you
Or the things you could do

Chorus

This is a lovely song. Some brilliant and melodic chord changes, and your vocals sound great. I think you should spend some more time on this one - it's well worth the investment when the basic song is this good.

I thought this one sounded great as stands. Well done!

Whoa dude, I like this one a LOT.  Your voice sounds so good, smooth.  This is like some lovely old-school California Country-rock from days gone by, Gram Parsons kinda stuff, early POCO (before they became shit), angry but the anger is disguised by this lovely sunny california country-rock sound.  This would sound great with a electric or (acoustic even) 12-string.  Great flipping song.  Mandolin would sound good here too.  Anyway you take this one, you have a great song here.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places
