Hey Everyone...it's been a couple of months since I posted...have a brutal inner ear infection that has kept me from recording as of late.  But I've returned with a little ditty about some friends of ours going through a rough patch in their marriage.  Hope you like it.

Pick Your Battle

She's looking for something more
She's heading for the door
Another battle lost
Cause no one would count the cost
Count the cost...

He's looking for something more
He's staring at the floor
His pride got in the way
He'll battle another day
Another day
If it's not too late...

Pick Your Battle
Bide your time
Pick your battle
Don't cross that line...

A soldier feels ashamed
When the battle should be blamed
With their defences down
Salvation is their crown
Is their crown
So let em down...

This sounds really cool the way your recorded it ~ great up close vocals with this unusual distant percussion !!   Very cool and original sound, but a very enjoyable listen!  Luv the guitar tone ~ sounds 12-string or 6 string with mandolin ~ very cool SD!

Cool tune!  Interesting and unique feel going there between the dry vocals and real wet instruments.  I like it!

Loving this tune Bro!

The bright spots are great!

Song flows along and keeps you interested till the end. Voice is superb!

I like the contrast in the reverb filled instrumental and the up front vocals.

Cool tune, nicely sung.  And I like the guitar and percussion.

Good post - hope your ear is fixed up ok now

Beautifully done. The production is very original - and very effective. A great vocal too: kind of like Richard Hawley in it's low, intimate style. You've come up with a lovely song here and performed it to perfection.

the guitar is fantastic, the percussion is really cool. Vocally this is outstanding. Excellent song Scottie.

Thanks everyone for the comments!  Too kind!  Happy accidents...the percussion is 4 tracks of me whacking my fingers on the table...painful, but my kids misplaced one of my brushes and I had to use what I could :).  8 or 10 acoustic tracks on Mic setting 10 ( whichever one that is! ), a couple of electric tracks on jazz box setting with the tone down, and one bass track.  That's about it...Gonna try some new tricks soon learned from you guys...onwards and upwards ( hopefully! )
