Jessica Lied
An original song by John Michael Duffy

Where were you on the night in question?
That's what the detective said
I said I was at home
All alone in my bed
He said that she said
That I'd had my way with her
Against her will
I said what he said
Made no sense at all
And I felt decidedly ill
Because I told the truth
But Jessica lied

Thrown in a cell I had nothing to tell
But I knew my conscience was clear
Frightened and cold
I shivered and trembled with fear
They came for me then
Threw me into the van
And drove me away to my fate
It's plain to see
She had it in for me
And now I'm an object of hate
But I knew the truth
And Jessica lied

My face is all over the papers
There's nowhere for me to hide
TV cameras and magazine pages
And all because Jessica lied

The magistrate told me that I couldn't roam free
When such a foul deed had been done
For you boy instead it'll be water and bread
Your reward for a crime that's so wrong
But I told the truth
And Jessica lied

Hey nice tune, sounds good too, big guitars and kinda punky, nice work.

I absolutely LOVE the bridge. I like the song, the lyric is awesome, just my kind of story to tell. You did a great job with the guitars.

I agree, the lyrics are excellant!  A story with pictures. The guitars are tight, very well recorded, and they fit the mood of the song.  And, yeah brother, the bridge is wonderful!! ;)

Well done.
