With a few exceptions the songs around at the moment are so serious, or heavy, I thought I'd slip this in.  All in front of the mic stuff, including the acoustic bass, so sorry for the heavy breathing that pops up at times.

This is from my fantasy band project " my names jim".  So apologies to all jims everywhere!

Snappy title "MPHL"

[wurdz]
It seems that - not so long ago,
I was free - and full of fun,
All money - spent on trinkets,
For my future - I saved none,
For my future - was a misty place,
It would come - or it would not.

And now it seems - that all has gone,
That early freedom - claimed its price,
A mortgage - and tradition,
Tied me - in my place,
But the only thing - that I can't bear,
Every mirror's - in my face,
Reminds me of ?
MPHL ......?

Leigh ( Gu Djin)

By the way most people miss the musical joke at the end of the first verse?

Leigh
Guild Starfire 5, Fender Telecaster, Fender Stratocaster, K Yairi and Walden and a 12 Stagg string acoustic guitar and other music making boxes - including mandolin, bouzouki and 5 string banjo, uke and acoustic bass - a few M-Audio keyboards and a flute - all played and treated with equal love and attention - zoom ut 2 pedal and Logic Pro X

JMD2010

Great little song, keep it up.

I feel a bit of a dunce because I missed the musical joke, but I love the song, Leigh.  It's a bit sad but with a nice touch of humor - that goes a long way.

cheers,

Jokes that need explaining were not worth making.  I only mentioned it because of the final missing line in the first verse was intentional, with a reference to the future that may come or not.  Ie the final line didn't come.  I didn't say it was a good joke, just my twisted humour.

LMFAO. I got the 1st joke & I don't know if JMD2010 meant that 1st comment posted? I hope he did. Hahaha !!! I was scratching my head, wondering what MPHL meant, then when U divulged, I nearly dropped my pipe. LOL. Priceless !! ;D btw the acoustic bass sounds bloody great !

Thanks for adding lyrics, Leigh! It is easier to me find out the message of a song. For a Finn...it is now difficult to find a joke, but it isn't your fault :)

I loved the minimalistic touch of your song. Fine work my friend.
