Zappa-Fest : Willie The Pimp

This one is my favorite Zappa tune.  I love this kind of Zappa, long crazy guitar jams, not really blues, but very bluesy.  The fantastic Captain Beefheart did the original vocals.  I tried to do this one up right.  For the solo I plugged my Les Paul into my wah pedal and into the microBR.  I jamed away.  I had to go back and do a few punch-ins to fix a couple of boogers.  Not quite Zappa, but it was fun as hell.

Dave, this is outstanding (and again, another Zappa tune I don't know, but I do love Captain Beefheart). The instrumentation is the kind of thing I can never pull off due to lack of prowess, and your vocals sound really great here.

Just a fabulous cover, Dave!! Great job on each part!! Hot Rats is the only Zappa record I own - haven't listened it much...this is the spark to start listen it! Your voice works really well on this. Outstanding guitar licks on this. Wow!
