Hi to all,

I was quite upset when Dave appeared with his excellent cover, especially since I was working on mine almost at the same time. So I decided not to cover Springsteen, but Dave instead. For two weeks I considered myself immensely clever!

The mastering of this song was messy: I was (and I am still) trying to figure out my ideal recording setup, so I started recording with Reaper, then I moved everything to the BR600, then back to the PC with cakewalk music creator (5). In the middle I changed slightly the tempo and I created a great mess that forced me to delete the intro (it was just a couple of bars with the guitar making the intro riff).

The attentive listener will notice the Rock 1 drums from the Casio VL1, two voices, not always in tune, an hammondish organ behind (I used an organ patch from my kurzweil piano), a fairly clean bass, and last but not least my cavaquinho strumming the chords.

Finally, I have to mention that the idea of covering this song came after I found the version you can find in this link:

It is +/- in the middle of the list and it was made by a bloke named "The E.L.F."

So....

pretty good vocal delivery here. It's like singing along while playing a kick ass game of Pong.

It's got a lot of different vibes to it. A dash of this, a touch of that, pretty cool cover of a cover

How did I miss this one?

I'm not really a Springsteen fan, but the fact that you used a Casio VL-Tone for drums for this cover gets you lots of extra credit in my book. We need an Electronic Music Fest!  ;D

Nice work on the vocals and cavaquinho (I'm intrigued by this grandfather/godfather of the ukulele).
