Best of your two posts, you need to get up close with your guitar, would try to record separately and when recording vox hold the mbr like a mic.

KURT - Well the good news, is that there is probably a very decent song here longing to get heard. The bad news (and this is reflected in the number of listens-to-replies ratio), is that you must re-think your approach to recording if you want to have your work commented upon. Separately, the guitar(s?)/playing, and the singing are confidently and competently done. What lets it down is the production. There is simply not enough separation between music and vocal to distinguish the lyric, which will hamper any objective comments about the work. I'm not sure what recording device you are using, but I'm sure you can achieve a better result than this. There are various examples on this site of what can be achieved with even the most basic of recording set-ups, and given that you appear to have the ability to construct such a promising song, then I'm sure that you will want the best for that song. As others have said, you will improve, and we ALL have to start at the beginning. There is a LOT of potential here, you will have to take more care in how to present it. Good luck.
