Outstanding vocals and the musical arrangement is superb.
What an over all, warm sound to the recording.
You have some real jewels in your archives, my friend.
So much going on musically and it's all mixed in perfectly.
The echoes and vocals are just killer.
An inspiring piece, I must say.

I downloaded this yesterday and listened this several times on my mp3 player. What can I say...this is an excellent song...it sounds better and better after many listenings! I think this could be 'a lost tape of Pink Floyd' or something. The production is very pro stuff - I liked all those 'tricks' with panning etc. Great collab!

Wow, thank you my friends for the positive feedback!  :)

I posted this here the night before flying out for engineering meetings on the west coast, and between travel time and those meetings, I didn't have much time to reply until now. Yes, we had a lot of fun making this way back in the day, and although the technology was a bit more limited compared to nowadays, it still came out a lot cleaner than bouncing on a cassette multitracker, which is what we would have done the year before. All the effects used were outboard and hardware (mainly pedals), that were 'printed' when recorded in Digitrax.

It started as a fairly simple voice and acoustic song about the movie '2001', but as it developed we decided to make four separate parts (verse-chorus-interlude-ending) plus later the reversed bits at beginning and end, and like magic it started to sound a lot like a Beatles tribute. ;D

Regarding my travel, for first time I brought along a uke and a casio vl-tone as well as my trusty Micro BR, and got some tracks recorded after work. I was hoping to post something before I fly back later tonight, but time has been kind of tight and there's still a bit more work to do. I'll try to get it online sometime next week.

You've gotta love this place.  :)

thanks again all,

Yes!  What a fine original song and well performed too.  Brings to mind Bowie and Pink Floyd but also a Yellow Submarine type thing.  Very smooth, rich production and an enjoyable listen.  :)

But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.
