Dear all,

I couldn't let pass my first festival as a member without sending anything to the plugged-in fest.

This cover was made in a hurry, since I spent much of the time trying to choose the right song. hank987' version of blister in the sun was inspirational - after all VF were one my favourite bands and "please..." was a song I used to play in my obscure past.

This was my first song with Cakewalk's Music Creator 5, since I just sold my BR600 - I'm waiting fo the BR800 ;-), so there was a bit of learning.

The drums were ACID wav files with some reverb on top.
The bass has a compressor and an EQ. Brian Ritchie's part is very difficult, and the tempo of my recording is even higher than the original. Please forgive some imperfections!
The guitar uses the zoom zfx plugin with some straightforward distortion and a noise gate
The vocals are bad! I never realized this song was so difficult to sing! Gordon sings, talks, whispers, whatevers in this song. I could't sing in his octave, and certainly couldn't repeat some of his improvisations. Just did mine.

So...

Nevermind the bollocks, here's DaSilvaSings

Dear All,

I've been a little out of this forum, but not idle. Been on holidays, and... got a baby girl!

I was utterly envious of all the songcrafters who made duets with their children, so I decided to rerecorded Please Do Not Go with altered lyrics, and a beautiful duet DaSilvaSings - DaSilvaSingzinha.

I was never completely happy with my original post:

1st I'm too old to appreciate the original lyrics.
2nd Originally I used cakewalk and some dodgy ACID drums I ended up hating
3rd Because I was not used to daw's, Mastering was pretty weak.

So for this new versiosn, I used the microBR drums, a new guitar, and obviously new vocal takes. The song was in Limbo for almost 2 months because everytime Laura would start to cry, I would do everything to make her stop. It took a while to have the coolness to bring the recorder along for a few moments.

So... nevermind the bollocks, here's DaSilvaSings and DaSilvaSingzinha

The only critical comment I'd make, is
"raise the vox a bit in the mix....."
It's a bit difficult to hear your vox properly.
Great Stuff!
Keep Rock'n
