Who I Am

Looking through some old notebooks I found these lyrics I wrote years ago and decided to write some music for them. I tried to keep the music simple and acoustic as to not get in the way of the lyrics. I think I am gonna try and record the vocals again and maybe add something else to this. Let me know what you think. All comments good or bad are welcome and appreciated.

Trying to see myself in the light,
Because I don't know just what to feel,

Time goes by,  you can't stop it,
Can't just hide away
these feelings I can't explain,

Does anybody know just who I am?
Does anybody feel the same?
Does anybody know just where I've been?
So I hide my tears behind the rain

So the night goes by and the day begins,
Sun rises over mountains high,
I see all the beauty and just sigh,

The things I thought were important then,
They faded yesterday,
I can't make them stay the same,

So I know things will change,
But when will they change?
Will it be to late?

What else can you do but live life?
Even if it's day to day,
Not much I can do anyway,

There's days when I'm feeling stronger,
Times when I can't cope,
But you have to try to hold on to hope,

We go on I guess and the time rolls,
We can't stop the way it goes,
Why ? I don't even know

You really put something great together. Wonderful lyrics and nice even guitar tone and vocals.

I think you should go naked vox though, bro. Just a thought.

I know I always double and triple track my vocals and use to many effects.
I guess i am just not comfortable with my voice.
But I am gonna try and record vocals again.

I think I like the building effect but the very beginning guitar was so low I turned up too much. Maybe that's how it should be.
I like the melody and then the rhythm on the guitar after the first chorus. I also believe this song in particular would benefit from some nice percussion. A drum track could really add a lot, imo.

You've done a great job. I know I am not as successful at putting music to a lyric.

I agree with T.C.,I think a drum tract would add a lot , especially in the middle where the tempo speeds up!! But the song is nice just the way it is!!

Ya know, I ask that question many times "who I am" or more-less "who am I." Either way these are really good lyrics and arrangement of how you delivered it.
