setting recording levels

Hi everyone, can anyone tell me how to reduce the volume of my first recorded guitar track so that when i come to record the vocals on track 2 it doesn't overpower them, when i turn down the input volume it turns down the vocal track, and it seems the same when i turn down the output volume.

Individual track levels are adjusted in the Track Level screen using the VALUE [-][+] buttons. See page 33 ("Adjusting the volume of a track") of the Micro BR manual, 3rd edition.
