Thanks all for the feedback, I finally got a more capable pc working so can get back to work on things and haven't really heard this since I got a new pc up and running, listening to it on here reminds me of what a low bitrate mp3 can do to a song, maybe in this case it hid some of the mud n the mix heh.

The mandolin type thing is just a sequenced synth pad I used from reason I believe. ANyway, I am finally getting back into working with a drum kit, but spending more time fussing around with the mic placement than capturing any recordings I don't overload with playing mistakes, I scored a Tascam DR-07 digital recorder from work and tried it on the drums and am actually quite pleased with the way it records drums, looking forward to going camping soon with an acoustic and percussion to test it out some more.
