I'm hearing some Doors influence.  Very powerful.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to listen and comment, it is very rewarding (as we all know).

I was going more for the 60's garage thing with this song so the Doors and Cult references are a bit of a surprise - but I like both bands and have listened to a hell of a lot of Doors in my time (it was basically a rite of passage around my way in my early 20s) so maybe some of that came out.

The riff came about when I was mucking around on an acoustic guitar with the chords to "Paranoid"  - I couldn't go wrong!.  The drums are mostly from the "Heavy Mental 1" CD, a pattern called "Earth Shaking".

Anyway that's enough self indulgence from me, time to listen to some more great songs on this site - so many songs, so little time...

i recently listened to a documentary on bbcradio6music about the history of american punk rock, a great part of the documentary dwelt on the 60's garage scene. this would have slotted in nicely.

Great song -sounds like there are influences from the sixties but still has a modern feel to it. Keep them coming if they're are all like this. Can't wait to hear the one that you are having problems with. Hope you sort them out soon.
