LYRICS

I'm in this ancient place of peace,
With lullaby in me, but I cannot seem to sleep.

Just a pill to help me go to sleep,
This lullaby in me, I can't hear...

The sirens break the silence, of my slumber time
The only thing louder are the screams.
The sirens break the silence, of my slumber time
The only thing louder are the screams.

(Carry on through the night,
Can't hear my lullaby no more) x3

I'm in this ancient place of peace,
With this lullaby in me, but I can't hear...

The sirens travel through the night,
In search of some eternal fight,
But it seems they have lost.

(The screams seem louder now,
And harder to block out.) x3

I'm in this ancient place of peace,
With lullaby in me, but I can only hear the blues...

I am drawn into this composition.
The only thing I'd change about it, is to raise up the vox
a little bit....It should be louder than the instruments!
This is a very cool song. Different type of music for you.

Great sounding song here guys.  I am so fascinated by Thareks lyrical writing style.  I just read the lyrics through about 10 times first before listening to the music.  Thats some crazy cool poetry that comes from a deep (or is it high, or maybe ancient) place.  What does it all mean, I don't have a clue, any ideas Owen.  It seems like it means something very deep and almost personal, yet there is an air of an ancient mystery about it, like almost archetypical imagery.  You are an old soul Tharek and are tapping into the deepest mysteries of the world we live in.  I get a real thrill and an excitement from your lyrics.  This is what I call quality, excellent, meaningful, deep, thoughtful, wise songwriting, even if I don't have a clue what it is all about.  It strikes me at a subsurface level and resonates.  Damn fine song Tharek, nicely played and sung by golden throated Owen.  You guys are onto something here, this combination.  Another winner for the collection.  Sorry for rambling but this song took me away on a Saturday morning, just some tea into me, no breakfast yet.  Thanks.

Hey Bluesberry,

You got it. He says police sirens but I'm thinking of Ancient Greece. Love to get lured in by those beautiful women, just ignore the snake hair or whatever it was in vogue!

He taps into something really old and profound I agree. His original version is beautiful but it works as the rock n' roll lullaby quite well too and we added a mini chorus thing.

I can just see us in greek armour with beards and swords havin a beer on the warship...when we hear the women singing...

Thats great Owen, thanks for the info.  It never dawned on me the police sirens at all, it never entered my mind at all.  I was thinking those strange ladies all along.  I love the idea of the Greek armour and beards and all that.  I think I will get dressed up like this the next time I listen to this one, my own private greek dress-up party, nice.

Hi mate,

I was thinking of asking an organist I know in Glasgow to perform the preludes but he hasn't got back to me yet so we'll see.

A trip To Scotland will be good though I am gonna come for Edinburgh Fest this year we can make a beeline for your local for sure! Do they have pubs up there?!

Cheers
