This is not really an MBR post as i didn't get around to mastering the audio on the MBR (just laziness) but i know some people here like to see how the youngsters are coming along so i'm sorry about it just being the raw sound from the video.

Anyway, the link is a video of a small part of Wish You Were Here with little Maddie doing the lead work. For some reason lately she prefers to play the full size shallow body acoustic rather than her 3/4 size electric. Anyway, she does pretty well for a 6 year old........ well, nearly 7.

Yes this song has had quite a hammering in our house. The reason is that, like a lot of Dave Gilmour's lead work, it is all in the pentatonic and really good for teaching.

She's better than I am at all that fiddly Gilmour stuff, lol. I've just about mastered the basics for this song. What an amazing achievement for both of you. And it must be nice to jam together like that. Cool!

That's badass! Maybe seeing this will renew my daughter's interest in guitar. She back to piano for now though.

This is awesome though!

When I grow up, I'd be happy to play as well as your 6/7 year old. Stunning.

Her get her shoes back?? I'm wondering how long it will be before i've lost all my guitars to the two girls. Their hands aren't big enough to play the full bodied six string (with much heavier strings) or the twelve string for more than a few minutes without it hurting their fingers.......... but i know it's only a matter of time.

Tell her she can do both guitar and piano.
Maddie's big sister (9) is now teaching herself piano (i have no idea) and she's coming along really well. If you haven't seen or heard Kayla on guitar before check these out.

Actually that solo in the higher octave was mainly put together by her big sister after seeing Dave Gilmour play it live at the end of his solo DVD (When the Floyd were being inducted to the hall of fame). She couldn't really copy what he did so (with a little help from me) came up with a decent middle solo.
