It was a close one but ZappaFest has won by one vote.

ZappaFest will start June 13th. Meanwhile, there's still time to post more songs for Plugged-in Fest which continues till June 12th.

I still haven't finished my contribution to the last fest... (my BR1600 is looking at me accusingly with the faders all set for a rough mix, but the drum part is only half done...)

I'm confident there is a Zappa tune for everyone out there, even for those that are not fans.

And I don't understand why a British Invasion fest would be popular as you guys haven't even left yet!  


If you don't like broccoli, you just cover it with cheese sauce, right?

Anyway, I think this could be fun. I'm assuming Boognish that tilted the scales our way, so thanks Aaron! Put that organ to work!

Zappa     I don't know alot of zappa, but the one's i've heard were borderline outrageous, and would be quite fun to listen to, a bunch of crazy zappa hits for a month....  

i'll say one thing, my vote didn't tilt the scale...but i did vote for zappa for the fun of it !

Almost done with the first my first Zappa tune I've ever played/recorded (except for the occational Bobby Brown at nachspiels) .....

This will be fun !! So many songs to choose from ... and so many of them almost impossible to play for human beeings   .... 

 Any takers on "G-spot tornado" ? ......

This is the part that has me shaking in my boots, how the hell do us mere mortals try to play Zappa!!! Its a huge challenge for sure.

Well it sure has started off epic, if a little quick off the draw.  Geir has thrown down the challenge to one and all who dare take on Zappa.  Now we are not just trying to perfect the impossible perfection of Zappa, but the equally impossible perfection of Geir doing Zappa.  My brain hurts just thinking about it.

I've picked a song to do but am wondering if I should attempt to spend lots of time (and ultimately give up and say good enough before it's finished) on a demo or if I should just simplify it down to my level and say 'there it is.' Maybe a bit of both?

Now just to get time to record the damned thing.
