I was inspired after listening to Geir's Blackbird/Yesterday, so I got out my telecaster and ripped myself a little "Yesterday".   Did it pretty quickly in 2 takes per track.  2 guitars, 1 vocal, 1 bass.  Sorta messed up the bass, ha, ha!, since I'm not a bass player.  Anyway, this was fun.  Made use of my "Beatles for easy guitar" book.

Revision: Just realized the guitar tracks were a bit too low so I upped them

Very nice, glad to see Geir's work inspired you! I didn;t notice any major issues on the bass. it all hung together very well. Quick but very effective - the vox sound very nice and were well recorded.

Cheers,

Nigel

Geir

Very good version indeed !!

And that bass is rock-steady, really good for one that claims not to be a bass player ;)

And your vocal performance is really good. Your voice is quite unique in a good way. Very pleasant and instantly recognizable.

Good work

Ha!  Well, there are lots of Elvis & Beatles impersonators, but only a few ultra talented people can aspire to be Geir impersonators . . .

Revised version posted above: After listening to this in my car I just realized the guitar tracks were a bit too low so I remixed

Thanks for the complements on the song.

Wikipedia says: ""Yesterday" has been recognised as the most recorded song in the history of popular music; its entry in the Guinness Book of Records suggests over 1600 different cover versions to date"

Also: "In order to keep the melody in his mind, Paul wrote a [rough draft] comedic first verse that went, in part, "Scrambled eggs / Oh how I really really love your legs..." "

Ha! It would be fun to try to recreate that working version of the song with those lyrics . . .

Also, I think this could use a ripping electric guitar solo in the middle . .
