I have been trying to post this directly to songcrafters but something isn't working. Anyway I posted using soundclick, sorry for any inconvience. I have been working on this song on and off for a couple weeks. This is my first mix of this and I will be working on it to make it sound better. Any comments are always welcome.

MAMA WANTS TO KNOW

I never was a good boy,
Snuck out my window stayed out all night,
I hung out with the wrong crowd,
They said trouble was my middle name,
Broke every law I could,
Smoking and drinking till the morning light,
One night my brother found me,
Through my drunken haze I heard him say,
Mama wants to know when your gonna come home,

I never really grew up, I only cared about myself,
Got into a big mess, ended up at the state pen doing 5 - 10,
Felt sorry for myself, its not my fault,
I blamed everybody else,
Daddy came to see me
As we talked through the glass he told me,
Mama wants to know when your gonna come home,

(Chorus)
Mama always cared for you,
She was always there for you,
And no matter what you do,
Mama will forgive you,
She was understanding,
Her love was never ending,
Mama wants to know when your gonna come home,

I got out of prison, tried to live my life right,
But old habits die hard, It's a struggle every single night,
My sister called the other day,
She said Mama's health is going down fast,
Doctors said it won't be long,
Then she told me something that chilled me to the bone,
Mama wants to know when your gonna come home,

(Chorus)

Tangled Wires

Very nice song, some top chord progressions in there, it just all flows along perfectly.

Great vocal too. although would have liked to heard it a little louder in the mix, but that's just my opinion and doesn't alter the fact that this an extremely well written and performed song!

Great storytelling song.  Great vibes here.  Simple but powerful.  Like the transition where the drums enter.  Love your voice.  I hear a certain nice breadth to the vocal, is it double tracked or have a bit of flange effect or something?
