Well, back in the day, Canada and Vancouver specifically had an outstanding Punk scene;
D.O.A, The Subhumans, Pointed Sticks, NoMeansNo and these guys.

Originally called The K-Tels, they were forced to change their name due to litigation.

From Burnaby BC, home town of Michael Buble, Michael J. Fox, Joe Sakic (for all you hockey fans) and yours truly, here's local Punk Rock icon Art Bergmann's Canadian Punk Rock anthem.

Art Bergmann, holy shit man, there is a name I haven't heard in a while.  Is the dude still alive?  He was legendary, almost became huge, the potential was there to become a rock God, but he was too wild and crazy hu, too many demons.  Fantastic F'n song Sandy.  Was your shirt all torn and bloody by the end of this song, just like Art would have done?  Really cool song.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

He is alive and living on a farm outside of Calgary. He did a one off show at Richard's on Richards in Vancouver about a year ago...He is no longer able to sing and play guitar but he fronted his old band Poisoned with a guitarist so he could still sing. He had lyric sheets on a podium and often used it to hold himself up. His health is not great but he gave the show his all - he was snarly and let the expletives fly at the audience. I had never seen him before so I consider myself lucky to have seen what may be his last live performance. Art was convinced to do the one show to coincide with the Bob Rock remix of his demos for his major label debut solo album "Crawl With Me" which was originally (over)produced by John Cale.

In my early 20's, when I was on the bus on my way to work in the morning, I can remember, on a couple occasions seeing Art on Commercial Drive looking like he was on his way home from the night before...He went hard at everything he did.

All MBR drumming except the hand claps.
