This is an early demo video/track that I made. Mark Knopfler of course was not really there and I don't know what I did with the finished version but I'm sure it'll turn up one day.

What an outstanding video. So cleverly cut. You could easily have a career as a Dire Straits tribute - your playing and vocals are absolutely spot on. Serious talent, my friend.  And this is such a timeless classic. Feels like a long time since my dad used to play it to me when I was a kid. I didn't really get it then, but from the moment I started playing guitar it all made sense.

Hey thanks Greeny glad you enjoyed it - wish I could have found the finished one.
I'm currently doing an album of original songs in this style at the moment and home alone which is the first track I uploaded in the original section is take from the album which is provisionally called others in arms. I'll post some more soon as its great getting some feedback before the itunes/amazon launch which is june 1st for the single home alone. Its a great site and I've heard some really interesting tracks over the past week or so.

thanks again

Damn man this is deadly.  You play wonderfully,  I love your strat tone there and of course fingerpicking, thats the deal.  I dabble in fingerpicking, but this is so pro.  Just a treat to watch this.  I like your ending where you crank up the gain and wail away.  That  is a serious tone on that strat, lots of compression there and a clean fender amp?

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Had to come back to this. The fluency, tone and precision of your playing is mindblowing.

Outstanding, never easy to copy a legend.  Willie

Hey thanks everybody - Bluesberry: the guitar sound was actually just straight into the desk - I can't remember offhand if I used the line6 XT live board or the small session box that I tend to use a lot. They are great units, very cheap and reliable made by Award - there are no fx on the session unit itself its just an amp simulator but it records really well. and yes Greeny I'll upload the Devil went down to Georgia clip - it's one of my favourite songs of all time and I love playing it live. Thanks for suggesting it.
