I'm getting a bit behind on posts at the moment so it's taken a while to get to this one. But I'm glad I did because I think it is quite special. The arrangement is absolutely superb, the little sound effects (like the gunshot, altho it could be a string scrape....) work so well and the way it builds from the start is superb. The keyboard is excellent, it's a great Doors-y sound that is mixed just right to add some real interest. The tremelo on the guitars works very well and the chord sequences and key changes are spot on. I can only get a few bits of the lyrics but they are excellent.

Superb, one of your best, really like this a lot. Oh, and the bass is a killer again!

Cheers,

Nigel

The production is just brilliant. When I hear you sing, I never think that you are from England, the accent doesn't carry for the most part, but it this case I can here it in your vocals a lot. It reminds me a lot of something that would be on The White Album, which I hope is a compliment! Great stuff!

Tangled Wires

Genius intro sets the tone for a cracker of a song here. Upon my first listen it seemed a relatively simple song, then after another listen (or two) I noticed all the other great little parts of music that were complimenting the acoustic, it really is very cleverly put together.

Superb vocal as we have come to expect.

Hope it went well today, and you blew the crowd away, rather than being blown away yourself!!

This is a really cool song as is. But I can't help but pile on. (Thanks Saijinn and Mike Skliar!)

This song is full of tension that never quite resolves--which is allowed.  However, I can imagine stretching this out for another minute with a huge ending.  I mean HUGE! This song ends long before it's worn out its welcome.  It's that good.  I'm hearing it in my head right now.  Damn it, I never bought a cranial interface for my Micro BR, or I'd record it for you.

Creative song.  Top notch skills all around.  How'd the gig go?  What songs do you play live?

I'm taking all the comments on board, and you're all right! There's something not quite right on the lyrics and it needs to be taken up to a bigger, rousing finish or coda at the end. It was meant to be a quiet little album track to just be tucked away, but kind of got a bit too good for an album track, but not quite good enough to jostle for attention with the best of my songs. I thinks it's just an enigma, and will left as such! I'm pretty happy with the production though.

The gig went well. Will hopefully post some pics on Soundclick soon. It's always nice to play my in the town of my birth, and it's rare that I can have both my son and girlfriend able to watch me. So it was pretty special, even though I have flu and a ravaged throat.

I have so many songs to play, but the one that went down best was Ziggy Stardust. It's fun to sing and play though.
