Here's our first blues/reggae crossover with my friend Werner on bass
and Messian Dread from www.dubroom.org chanting Jah.
Instruments are recorded with the Micro BR, the dub parts are done
with Reason 4. Chill out! 8)

P.S.: Scroll down page for the bass enhanced version.

Great combination, the dub parts mix really well with the blues guitar. Very interesting crossover, let's hear more!

Cheers,

We haven't had anything like this for a long time - maybe ever! It has a good solid dub groove going on. I'd have liked the bass louder, but that's just being picky. It's very tidily mixed, and there's plenty of interesting touches. I like the feel of it very much, and hope to hear some more of the same.

whatta vibe...a little bit of a Black Board Jungle feel...awesome job

Ted

A very tasteful fusion! The blues guitar fit perfectly, and in a couple of spots had a bold fish-out-of-water-but-I-don't-care sense to it.

I agree with Greeny: Bass could be up. I also think the chucking organ could be down slightly.

I'm glad that you like it and thanks for your constructive criticism!

@Greeny: Advice taken! I raised the bass volume in the first three
parts a little bit and pushed it to the limit during the 3 dub parts
at the end. To me it looks like raising the reverb eats some of the
bass frequencies.

@Ted: Unfortunately I can't change the organ skank anymore
since it's already integrated into the riddim track, but I'll keep
an eye on that in the next project.
