Hi people

It occurred to me that most of my little tunes that I've inflicted on you have been mainly keyboards.  I thought that I would let you hear a more guitar based tune so here's one from a couple of years ago.  It's called Desolation Alley (Why?  Why not? What do you call an instrumental?) and you can hear it at:

As you might expect, there's still a fair bit of keys on it.

By the way - the awful abrupt ending is courtesy of Soundclick.  For some reason it has clipped the last second off.  It's slightly more subtle than that really.

Well - very slightly......

This has a lot of soundtrack potential - it's very cinematic and moody at the start. But then that awesome guitar kicks and sends into some kind of space rock fantasy territory. It's a very clever piece of music, and exceptionally well played (both on the guitar and keyboards). Highly polished and professional. And man, you can shred! Great stuff.

 Very professional work on everything!!!
Excellent job!!!

Progtastic! Great guitar playing.  Is that a bass guitar, or keyboards?

I played the bass on a strat that I fitted with a Roland GK synth pickup triggering a GR20 guitar synth.  My son is a bass player and I originally tried to play the bass parts on his Mexican Precision but I struggled to get a comparable sound.  So as usual I cheated.

Other than that, everything is keyboards apart from the obvious (and somewhat too loud in the mix) guitars.

BTW Ted, what is the quote from?  Have I lifted the title from somewhere?

That's a paraphrasing of a verse from Desolation Row by Bob Dylan.  I was trying to be funny. Again.

This is f*cking awesome. It's most definitely a path I want to explore musically.

This is frickin wicked as hell! When it started I was thinking "I should ask him to post the BT so that I could play over it." Then your guitar lead came in...  :o   I can't touch that!

Very cool song! Fanfuckintastic!

On my third listen already!

Great instrumental. Well-structured and well-played!

I play bass lines through gr20 too. Requires a skill, but sounds good in the mix.

Beginning of your composition reminded me another song called "Desolation"-instrumental soundtrack  from Deus Ex computer game.
