I got a new Bass

An Ibanez GARTB20 four-string.
I strobe tuned it and relieved the neck, and it sounds great. Notes ring like a bell.

Do you require a bass track added to your music? I am now open for business.

For some reason, that's a less common body style for a bass. I like it.  Is it a 30" scale?

The GARTB20 bass is a short scale instrument. 30.03 inches. I like the Les Paul style body. Quite comfortable. Good tone circuitry in it. I did shorten the saddle height adjustment screws so I could drop the saddles down more for a softer action.

It seems the manufacturer chromed the saddles after the screw holes were tapped and this prevented the screws from being able to back all the way out. Fixed that with a Dremel tool.
Now I have a nice soft action, same as on my guitars.

I just noticed what a sucky picture I put up. It did not take well to being reduced down from the original digital image, which was over one megabyte in size. Oh well...

I've been a bass player for many years, but lately I spend more time playing guitar, and when I switch to bass the thing just seems huge!  I wonder if I'd like a 30.3 incher.

Ted, I played a short scale Gibson EB1 for many years. Approaching it like a lead guitar, I found the shorter scale a bit quicker to navigate than the P bass, which were about the only choices way back when. This Ibanez is quite comfortable. I like it. Basswood body makes it light, and Basswood
is a very resonant wood. Notes ring like a church bell. Nice.

no, but i'm looking forward to buy a bass as well, i have in mind a "viola bass" but not the Hofner, there's a "Johnson" copy that's very affordable
