"One" U2 cover

This sounds really good. Guitars have a nice edge too them and your vocal performance sounds strong underneath all that reverb. I don't have the same problem with the wife as I use a Micro BR and always do my vocals remotely parked in my car somewhere. It's the best place to let it all out. Once in a while someone will walk by and I know my windows aren't soundproof but what the hell...it's a lot easier to sing in front of strangers than wives!

sounds real good. Your voice is good, and you did a fine job singing, keep at it.
Very enjoyable listen of a great song.

We've all been there, brother.  I think you just hit on the hardest part of our obsession - waiting for those stolen moments to get a vocal track down.  Everything else I can do near silently through headphones.

I like the guitar sounds and the mix overall, but I think you already know the vocal needs to lose most of that reverb.  I think I'd make a cut to the lower mids too, help it sing out from the backing track.

Good to have more Brits around, welcome...

This is a really nice cover!  The guitars were great and I thought the vox was just fine.  I don't like recording vox when anyone's around either.  A great tip that someone on here gave once was to go out to the car in the garage and do it.  I've done plenty of vox recording there!   ;)

Thanks for the bump and the great comments!

I was off work for 2 months earlier this year due to stress and had plenty of time to do a bit of recording. I posted another couple of tracks about the same time - Whiskey in the Jar and Angie (Rolling Stones).  I think my real singing voice came out on Angie as nobody was in the house so I let rip! Back at work now so its difficult to spend much time on my music but I'm hoping to post some more as soon as I can.

Wishing you all a great Christmas !!
