Here's my second post which is the first track I did on the BR600.

The wife kept interrupting me when I was doing the vocal track saying I sounded awful and out of tune.  I think you can hear the nerves in my voice!! Women!!

I think I over-processed the vocal when I mastered the track trying to make it sound better.

Any comments are appreciated.

hi,

..don't worry too much about the vox at the mo..my advice would be to not rush it.

Certainly don't over process the vox because it makes matters worse and you can't disguise a nervous  vox take behind effects. Iv gone down that road before and it dosn't really work.

When i'm nervous...(even when i'm in a room on my own) i try to smile a little when I'm singing, i give it all the arm movements and try to imagine an audience in front of me..
I am not an expert..I'm learning just like you..

Don't forget to punch in and out if your not happy with part of your recording...no one will ever know...
Like all of us, your giving it a go...that says a lot..

Keep posting man and smile a bit when your singing..
all the best

Thanks for the advice Nick.  I don't know if you've listened to my other post yet but I was a lot happier with the vocals on that one - the wife was out when I did them and she liked the end result! I recorded the vocal twice through 2 of the preset patches on the BR600 and didn't mess around adding any more reverb or delay.  I'll try smiling on my next track !!   ;D

Great production, the guitars sound excellent.  The vocal is pretty darn good, just keep on singing and it gets better and better.  You have a great starting point here, very appealing, strong and rich voice.  You are a natural singer really, keep it up.  I had the same problem with a wife who would make comments when I sang, I just ignored it and kept it up and I don't feel as stressed anymore about my singing voice.

Good  cover Pete !! I have a hard time recording vocals also. I wait until I'm alone.I feel awkward about singing loud at home. It's just so different than with a live band!!! My wife doesn't understand this though!! I never get it in one take.I took some good advise from Hooper and have learned to use the auto-punch in/out feature on the parts that I don't like.I still have a lot to learn about recording!!
You are doing great keep up the good work!!!

A fine composition. Your vocal and guitar is nicely done.
