I really like this a lot. The guitar is stunning and fits the words so well. Listened to the instrumental only as well but it is definetely better with the poem together.

The content of the poem is DEEP and very well done T. Soul opening words, that really give perspective. The instrumental piece is very well done and soothing.

Like the timing in the reading on this and well balanced pace of guitar chords.

Really interesting sound-scape and just like the fog with the donkeys in! I know I was there!

Nice one

I listened to the instrumental version first, while I read the poem.

I have to admit that I preferred the version with the recitation. I liked the instrumental on its own, and I love the meaning in the words... but I don't really "get" poetry - I don't hear it with a voice in my head. When I listened to the spoken version I got a lot more out of it :)

Out of interest, how did you construct it? I'm guessing that you recorded the poem then improvised the instrumental against it? If so, then "wow" that's pretty impressive - made me wonder about trying it (I've got some old "poems" that won't work as lyrics). If not, then it's even more impressive :D ... I've no idea how to time spoken word over music that doesn't have a fixed song structure...

Nice piccies as well... I'm from the West Country... the missus and I like going to Cornwall... kind of missing it at the moment...

Thanks Andy!!!!

I Usually Improvise the Instrumental to the words...

Here is another one where I Got a friend of mine (Kevin) to recite one of his Poems...

Recorded it...

Then Played around the words...

This Time, Improvised a Tune Whilst Thinking of the Moores in the Morning..
But I did it with Creating a Poem at the end in mind ....

When it came to the time when I had to put words to it, The Emotion and Scene was already there.... Just had to keep the words in time...

Poems are quite liberating to put to Music...
No Song structure....
Just a way of getting your thoughts across....

I Love The West Country!!!!!
Worth the Long drive from London.....
And the freezing Night Sleeping in Owen's Car....

The music and poem work really well together.

I was a bit of afraid because I thought the two together may come across as over the top or pretentious, but it really is quite stunning.
