Here's something i recorded with Kayla last September. It was just the two of us, her on electric me on acoustic, live in the lounge room. One take, a few fluffed parts, but a decent vocal will hide them a bit.

I thought it would pose a challenge to the vocalists out there. There's some difficult harmonies to cope with.......... so is anyone up to it????

Hello there.
This is a really nice melody. I've been procrastinating about writing lyrics for someone else's music for quite awhile and you're the lucky guy, or unlucky depending on how you look at it. :)
This is my first shot at collaborating so forgive me if I ruined you song.
But seriously I hope you enjoy it. Great job on the music.
Well about the lyrics:
In the story the blue sky represents the happy face the person puts on, to avoid showing his true feelings and opening up his heart to the possibility of being hurt but now he realizes that he is also preventing himself from finding someone to share his life with. It may not be all Blue Skies but Love is worth the gamble. I know , it's a little deep for a collaboration with a stranger. :) but is the only way I can do it. I need to lighten up a little.
Cheers mate

Thanks for that Nelson. I probably should have included a bit more detail. It's somewhat ironic that the first song you decide to do some lyrics for is actually a Pink Floyd cover. I was hoping (and still am) that someone could do the lyrics to the original Floyd number. In saying that though, i'm very impressed with your lyric writing Nelson, particularly how you have taken the song name and feel and knocked out such good lyrics, and recorded them, in such short time. Very impressive.

Now....... is there anybody out there (no pun intended) that is prepared to take the Floyd challenge?

Oops !!!
Now that I look at it again, you were clear enough. I think I was itching to write something and saw what I wanted to see. Well, I got a new song idea out of it so it's not all bad.
Man is this funny. I actually thought your name was Floyd. :D

That is funny!
What great lyrics though. If you don't mind PM me the lyrics and i'll see if i can put them to some original music as they deserve. I don't think Pink Floyd's lawyers would appreciate us messing around with their songs in such a way.

wow! your voices blend so well together! I hope you guys do another one together!

Nelson

Thanks guys.
I guess sometimes ignorance is bliss. Jim, you are too kind , I'm really happy you guys are enjoying my work. As you know I'm on the quest of my life, to write That one Classic song. Something that will touch the world, long after I'm gone.
Bag, You are a really good musician and I love your sound, Drop D Waltz is really good.
I only wrote one verse to leave room for you and Karla's playing to shine and after finding out it was a cover, the inspiration to complete the song had left me. But the comments and PMs  have reinvigorated me to find another muse and try to complete it, in the future.
Thanks Guys

I forgot to comment on this earlier. I really enjoyed it as well. A case of miscommunication has proved to be a great success!
