During a recent domestic upheaval I've located several loose-leafed lyric pages, including this,  ???
I haven't imbibed anything illegal in years. Er, this is (C)1998, so who knows.
If anyone can use or make head or tale of it, yer welcome.

                    ...idle musings...

Via the Shivering-Servant Mountains
It crossed into my Kingdom (my Muse),
Came into my Kingdom
And cleansed the doubtful day.
So to Perhaps-I-Will & Maydo
So sorry for the showdown
But you got to lay down, yeah, you've got to lay down:

Lay down your palm-mutes on chord Sunday
For Dance-without-End is over.
And when music for white harmonica dies
And is resting by the waters' side
Will you be counted with mankind
Of which we are the western tribe.

And you've gotta help me see inside love
Ain't never been alive or this blind before.
'Cos I searched around this uncertain World
And secured a deal and Summertime job -
Trained as a Diamond and Caravan soldier
At Ferning Island Tree Farm
In rock-Mapled Manitoba.

I'm being doorstepped by a Brutal of
Fleet Street Lady Macbeth's -
Performing on their pencil ends and untipped cigarettes.
N' one or two will pass along their Daffodil-coloured smile.
So I'll lay the problem on the plates of Ladies-who-do-Lunch,
And maybe they can work out why
There's a shadow across the Spanish tiles?

There are a lot of great images and delightful verbal juxtapositions here.
Good stuff.

I like that kind of imagery and phrasing alot. Very cool. I just don't know what you are saying.
It jumps around alot.

I like those lyrics a lot! I think it stands on it's own as a poem, which is a big compliment. I especially liked the line: 'Performing on their pencil ends on untipped cigarettes'. Nice one!

Bluesberry

Sounds like the kind of lyrics that Nigel (Ferryman) could turn into a prog-rock epic.  It is very good poetry thats for sure.
