I think the jams with your friends are great but I enjoyed this even more! Your vocals are fantastic! You should do more recordings on your own like this. You're a one-Blooby band of exceptional skill and talent.

Thank you, all, for your words of encouragement.  I'm not sure I hear it, especially now in my sober state.  Let's just say I'm not comfortable with my voice, and several spots in that tune make me cringe. I'll admit it's a step up from what I've attempted previously with regard to vocals, though. And maybe some day, I'll learn to take a compliment better as well.

Quote from: Rata-tat-tat on March 29, 2010, 09:32:09 PMThe drums sound awesome... care to share your recording process??? I don't think I've ever achieved that good of a sound. BAD ASSSSSS

I'm mixing down through a Yamaha MW12CX using SM 57's on the Tom's, Audix I5 Snare, Sure Beta 52A Kick. I've also tried the Realistic PZM's on live recordings... Lined into MBR.  I haven't got around to baffling the room yet. Getting a bunch of overtones. But I think my main problem is not knowing what effects to put on each instrument. I've tried gates, reverbs you name it... just can't find the magic potion. Also I think an area mic or two wouldn't hurt. Ohhh and a Pearl CM MMX series....Sounds to me like you got it nailed.

Recording process for drums? I plug them in.

Other than some EQ (usually taking some off the high end) and adding 2 seconds of hall reverb (turning some of the high end off the reverb as well), I basically cheat.

Peace.

Learn to take it Blooby, your voice sounds great, it fits the music really well and any glitches you hear do NOT notice to the listener. You should keep singing, just let your emotions out and it will continue to sound great.

Music is all round awesome, production is fab and there's so much to like. Like the bass playing for example, I like it a lot!

Now you have proved you can play all the instruments, sing and produce like a pro, we are looking forward to your solo album......

Cheers,

Nigel
