For the past few days I have been working on 2 different love songs and I needed a break today so I wrote and recorded a "I Hate You" song. Just to balance things out  :)
Simple rock song and you will be able to tell why I don't play lead guitar.

Give Me Back My Peace Of Mind

Life, they say is a long hard full of twists and turns,
Along the way you need to find someone to share it with,

When I met you, I thought you were what I was waiting for,
But I ain't no fool, you been sleeping around with every man in town,

             (chorus)
You better pack your things and go,
I can't take it no more,
Don't let the door hit your behind
And give me back my peace of mind,

Love, they say is a wonderful thing worth fighting for,
And I know someday I will find my love but baby it ain't you,

I think the sentiments in this song are an entire pop sub-genre.  Well done.

I like how the riff is are assertive, but not angry. Perfectly matches the lyrics. Although I wouldn't call this an "I hate you" song.  The attitude is more matter-of fact: "I'm done. Enough is enough."  Which makes it even more nuanced than an "I hate you" song.

You've motivated me to dredge up an old song of mine in the same vein.

Oh well ........

Ferryman_1957

Yup, this has hit written all over it! Really gutsy riffs the sound made me think Free/ Bad Co, there's areally nice warm sound to the drums and guitars - what did you record this on? Don't worry about the lead guitar - if you can't shred like a hooligan, play something that fits the song and I think that solo works great. The vox are great as well.

My only suggestion would be to spread the guitars in the mix a bit more, but it sounds great as it is. Really enjoyed this, great rocker!

Cheers,

Nigel

Great rocker love that riff, really nice sounding, as the Ferryman says pan the guitar further apart should make it sound better other than that, it,s a really good rocker.
