So sorry to hear this, Nigel.  :'(
You're a very talented song crafter and the world will miss your gift.

May you stay well in the future.
All the best.

Sorry to hear that Nigel, there are times in life when people have to stop, for different reasons, certain activities that are unfortunately no longer compatible with us
I was a sports nut in general and a speed funboarder in particular and it was a heartbreak when I had to stop, same for my professional life work

always keep a good eye on your friends from SC who remain your friends and fortunately there are the bumps to resurface the many pearls that are in the archives, isn't that right Ted ?

QUESTION TO THE DEAR ADMINISTRATORS Shouldn't we make a "special bump" section (reserved for hetero bumps, because otherwise as we have the weakness to like our own production it would be a flight of fancy :)
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I have mixed feelings about Nigel's "retirement" from music. He's entirely (and obviously) entitled to move on from songcrafting if it no longer brings him satisfaction. We have no claim on his time and creative energy, as much as we may want to hear more from him. At the same time, I'm a little envious. Imagine feeling as though you've said all you could say with music! I'm quite the opposite – worried I might never say even half of what I want to say with music.

Thanks for the kind comments all, I will consider myself the Songcrafters spirit animal wandering in the ether ;D . I do drop in from time to time and play a few songs but I don't want to get into commenting as it takes too much of my time these days.

I do have other things that I do with my time and I am more focused on those - I have greater room for improvement! Plus life of course always gets in the way. I can't see myself ever getting back into music in a serious way but I haven't deleted my SC login just in case.

Do stay well all, and keep Songcrafters alive and well.

Life is what it is and you do what life demands but it has been my honor to listen to your music and appreciate your comments Have a joyous holiday season

Quote from: Ferryman on December 06, 2022, 04:23:15 PMHi all, thanks very much for the bump. I'm still out in the ether and completely well but my Songcrafting days are sadly behind me. I've hung up my musical boots as it were and sold a big chunk of my gear. I've realised that I can't do any better musically than the songs and music I have posted on here in the past so I've called it a day. Also, my hearing issues make it really difficult for me to record things and I find I get very frustrated when I try.

It's been great fun being on here sharing my music, doing a few collabs, taking part in fests and listening to a lot of great music from other Songcrafters but I'm afraid that's pretty much it from me.

Stay well all and keep the Songcrafters spirit going. And have a great Christamas/festive period or whatever you may celebrate  ;D

It has been a while, Nigel ~~~ have been trying to checking Songcrafters more and more, and today while reading posts from previous songs (that i had commented in 2010: ), saw your message...  i have some of your songs that i downloaded way back when... hahaaa ~ Songcrafters musicians kept me company while living in northwest Alaska.  Huge talent here for sure...  My tinnitus has gotten pretty noisy, like having 1000 crickets singing in my head, and have had reconstructive surgery on my right ear twice. Pushing myself to quit been lazy about guitar playing, so my daughter got after me and send me "her song list" ~ hahahaa so, Right now learning some new songs and rehashing some old songs to re-start hitting the local cafes and bars with my daughter Gabriela ~ she's a darn good singer ~ You to  Stay well, Nigel ~ abrazos

I very sorry to hear that you are done with music, Nigel. I've always enjoyed your songs and ideas. I can totally relate to your degraded hearing because I'm in a similar boat that is just starting to leak. I wish you all the best and do hope you still pop into SC now and then. Cheers!
