a great second movement.
the organ works as a stand alone piece.
it would not work all stringed up

A definite Halloween feel to this part, Owen. Soundtrack to one of those old silent horror films... and I mean that in a good way! Very effective. Crawls right under your skin. Nice contrast between all the movement in the first half, and the drone accompaniment of the second half. ...on to part 3...
There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

There's a pause about halfway through.  I thought it was over.  When it started up again, I flinched.

Mission accomplished.

This is fantastic. I love the eerie nature of this and the fantastic use of the organ in the way the music swells and flows. Really superb use of music to create an incredible mood.

I would love your permission to sample some of this because I am working on a concept album based on a Gothic horror novel, "The King In Yellow". One of the stories (The Court of the Dragon) tells of an other wordly organist that haunts the protagonist. His organ playing is described thus:

To-day, however, from the first chord I had felt a change for the worse, a sinister change. During vespers it had been chiefly the chancel organ which supported the beautiful choir, but now and again, quite wantonly as it seemed, from the west gallery where the great organ stands, a heavy hand had struck across the church at the serene peace of those clear voices. It was something more than harsh and dissonant, and it betrayed no lack of skill. As it recurred again and again, it set me thinking of what my architect's books say about the custom in early times to consecrate the choir as soon as it was built, and that the nave, being finished sometimes half a century later, often did not get any blessing at all: I wondered idly if that had been the case at St. Barnabé, and whether something not usually supposed to be at home in a Christian church might have entered undetected and taken possession of the west gallery.

This music immediately created that image for me and I would love to use some of it in my piece if that's OK with you. Don't worry if it isn't btw, please feel free to say no.

Cheers,

Nige;

This part isn't swirling around like the first part.  It is more linear.  Marching rows of empty faces, grey skies overhead, tension, dank air, hard to breath...the last chords stabbing, lurching along, hard to breath, stumbling along the cold brick walls...ok then on to Part 3.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places

Dear Ferryman,

Use what you want it would be an honour!

Sounds like my song would fit perfectly in your project.

Pop some reverb on it to make it sound better I can't figure out how to get my demo reverb unit working; Tharek will help me!

Cheers

Fantastic, thanks so much Owen. This appeared just as I completed my second track and it is the perfect inspiration for the next track. Great timing, another reason I love this place, other people's work just inspires you to do more!

Cheers,

Nigel
