Gracieusement by Jacques-Christophe Naudot. Duet for 2 alto recorders, recorded on an MBR.
This is the kind of thing that a 16th century gentlemen would expect to play with a lady while her chaperone was in the other room I think.  After all, no gentleman should be without a sword *and* a music stand.  The gramaphone has ruined music for the masses, alas.

Or an alto recorder.  I tend to think that music was always wasted on the masses.

But since I don't consider myself part of the masses, I really enjoyed this.

"Is that an alto recorder in your pocket M'sieur, or are you just pleased to see me....." (the deleted scene from "The Draughtsman's Contract").

Lovely rendition - did you play both parts separately or did your gentle lady (or some other person) accompany you?

Cheers,

My stepkids attend a Waldorf school, which means I've had plenty of opportunities to hear recorders played badly.  (Those Steinerites are big into their recorders.)

This is really well done.  If I could expect this quality, I'd approach each recital with enthusiasm (rather than a dull sense of dread, wishing I could bring my PiePod).

Hah hah, yeah, I was made to play the recorder in elementary school by people who didn't know how to play it. But I got over it and found some really good teachers in college. I hope I can play a little better than a 5th grader now.

Yes - I love it. Much more advanced than the 5th grade recitals (That would be a cool name for a band). Anyway, this was cool.

However, you gotta thank technology a little, as there need only be one of you to create wonderful harmonies - as you have skillfully displayed on this number   8)

Congrats Lamgandi for a beautiful piece here!  Super quality and great duet of sounds for  a "middle age" private concert.
