Cherries on her Trifle ?!? What a line. This is brilliant. If I owned an i-pod this would definitely go on it.

Quote from: Bluesberry on March 25, 2010, 11:10:39 AMThats a monumental bass line, and the tone is really good too.  If you don't mind, what effect setting did you use to get this tone, is it double tracked?

Thanks everyone! This one was so much fun to do.

In answer to BB's question, I have no bass secrets whatsoever. I use the same set up every time: a cheap(ish) P-Bass copy running through the BassCrnch patch with the guitar and input volumes turned up to the max. I don't adjust EQ or Reverb or anything else. I think I'm just lucky to have one of those great-sounding and playing guitars you stumble across once in a while.

I think the difference is that I'm not a bass player, so I try to make it melodic. For me, that means using the higher notes and strings a lot more than usual. There's one song that I always think of when I play bass: 'Paperback Writer'. For me, that's one of Paul's great bass performances.

Listen to the latest Jemima's Kite song and see what a real bass player sounds like, lol.

OH yes Tim, this is special for sure!
Beatles meet Tom Petty!
This is a new favorite of yours.
The subject matter is hilarious indeed, you gotta love it!!!!

Tim,
Don't forget that Paul Wasn't a bass player either.
He originally played guitar with John, but when their bass
player died, Paul stepped up to play bass.

Excellent song. Wow where to start, the guitar parts, the melodic bass line and the vocals and harmonies are all top notch, great mix on this one. It just screams Beatles , i love the rickenbacker sounding guitars, Sometimes the best songs come fast and furious and that always feels good. You should be proud of this one. The lyrics are great I would give them a DOUBLE D.

I was thinking this morning that the premise of this song is physically impossible.  I mean, if one of her boobs is 1,300,000 times the size of the earth, where would you find a sweater big enough?  There aren't enough sheep in the world to make that much wool; not enough oil in the ground to make that much polyester.

Frankly, Greeny, I don't believe you anymore.

Ah... so true, lol.

"She has something warm and wonderful that I want to bask in like the sun up her jumper" didn't quite have the same lyrical ring to it though!
