Unbelievable!

Amazing!

What an incredible sound you've created. All on one box?

Masterfull.

Thanks all for the comments! I was so glad to have taken part in the Fest, and I may try to get some more done as well. I love the idea of having a separate area for tributes to all of our friends on here.

The Kaossilator Pro is pretty cool, @64G - I'll post a comparison in the General Discussion thread when I have time. @ Flash - yes, all one box apart from the vox, which are done on the MBR. Although this new toy has vocoder effects as well..... Altho it has looping capabilities, I did lay down a number of separate tracks and mix them together. But the parts in the middle (after "Wonderland") are done using the loop banks.

Glad you think the vox work Dave, there's two stereo vocal tracks, one with chorus on and another with phase on to try to get an ethereal sound.

Cheers,

Nigel

Now I'm not at all against guitars. And I'm not particularly happy that this doesn't have guitars all prominently displayed and stuff. BUT... this is cool and different and unique and good and... well let us just say I like this one quite a bit. It really is inspiring in a way as well. It makes me want to be more creative. And that, I think, is the highest compliment I could give a song.

Fantastic cover Nigel. As always when you post a song here it is pure quality. It's a trippy song for sure and your new "Harold" sure delivers the goods!

Great singing too, you do sound like you feel "at home" in this music !

Cool Nigel.

Very unique sound compared to the normal fare.
Though I consider it pure blasphemy  ;D, it is interesting to hear something without guitars on it.

You've got good vocals too!

Very cool cover man!
It ain't pretty being easy.

Thanks guys, appreciate your feedback.

Pigfarmer and Vann - I resisted the temptation to put guitars on! The new Kaossilator Pro can sample audio input so I have had some fun building guitar based loops. But the guitar on the original is so atmospheric I really forced myself not to do any because I think it would have sounded too similar to Tim's playing.

Geir - glad you think the style works because I am hoping to use the KPro to get me away from always sounding like 1980s bands! It will force me to go in a different direction (for at least some of my stuff).

Cheers,

Nigel

I need to do the same thing Nigel, try to break that 80s band sound (at least for a couple tunes) :)

Great sounding trippy tune again!

Ha! You pagan! Plug a guitar in at once, crank to 11 and play 12 "Scale Marys", or ye shall burn for eternity in Moby hell.  :D

This was a really clever arrangement. I loved the moogy sounding bass and those vocal effects - I read earlier in the thread where you used chorus and phaser. Very cool. Also the quasar type effects and the little sawtooth number really added to the whole scenario.

Listening a few times - It's inspired me to continue noise/sound oriented number I was working on.

Sweeeeeeeet!!! A very "original" cover!
