Goodbye My Friend

This song has nothing to do with guitars but I thought someone
might find it interesting to listen to after learning the story behind the music.

The vocal was sung by Jeanne Mandeville. A third grade school teacher
with a wonderful voice.
A colleague of hers passed away and she brought me the sheet music and
asked me if I could put it to music and record it on a tape so she could have
it played over the auditorium sound system at the memorial for the deceased teacher.
I did that, minus the vocal, so she could sing along with it in real time.

I did not use a real organ. I programmed the entire song into an Amiga computer,
then recorded the backing track onto a tape for her. It was a huge success.

Enjoy.

Cool! Still have my Amiga 1000. A fantastic computer in its time.

That picture brings back fond memories.
I hacked a lot of Amiga games. Gave them unlimited lives, etc.
That computer and the Atari 800 are the ones I learned machine code on.

Very interesting sounding....an Amiga, huh, wow!!  The intro sounds almost like an intro to an Yngwie Malmsteen tune :)

Great voice of course, and keyboard arrangement ~ definitely worth adding authentic keys to ~ really a great song actually!!

Very moving song, lyrics and vocals are very emotional. The organ sound works well with the lyrics and vocals. Very nice work on this.
