"Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" by Traffic

Blooby

I've taken to forcing us to learn a new song each time we get together. This is yet another live-in-the-living room Museum of Oddities piece.  After trying Traffic's "Dear Mr. Fantasy" last week, I went ahead and sketched out the changes for "The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" as well. It's a bit raw and pitchy, but I thought we had a couple nice moments dynamics-wise.

Take care.

A skilled representation of a great tune - I really loved this album. Your MoO performances repeatedly cause me to dig into my dusty CD pile to replay the the albums that house these great tunes.

I actually had this one on LP. I rescued it at a yard sale, age 11 I think. DSOTM and a Buffalo Springfield album were a part of the deal that went down. Crusty things, but buying a new stylus was cheaper than replacing all the albums I got for pennies. Thank god for CD technology.

Anyway, great song from an album that brings back great memories for me.

Nice job and especially for first practice.  Some fine guitar licks in there and as usual the singer is sounding good.  Jealous of the fun you guys are having in the living room!

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I love the original of this. And this captures the full on psychedelic, jazz-infused wig-out of it perfectly. Straight into my 'keep' folder. This is outstanding, Blooby. It has to be a damn fine band to even try this. And as for doing it live... unbelievable! You're in your own league, musically speaking. I can't tell you much I enjoyed this. My favourite of many Blooby favourites.

I agree with orh... it would be awesome to see you guys performing this on Youtube!

Thanks, guys.  I really appreciate the comments.  And thank you, 64, for the "Where's Blooby?" cover art.  They always tickle me to no end.

The VE-20 vocal processor just arrived.  Some of you know how I hate my voice, so I'm afraid to try the damn thing out.  Eek.

As for Youtube, I think not. Then you would see us all in our matching spandex.  And this is just not a pretty sight for a bunch of 40+ year-olds.  We'll look like a large troupe of tag-team wrestlers from the 70's. Here's a potential band picture:
