Got the idea on the way home from work early this morning. A pretty simple song written from my own personal experience. It felt good to write this one.

Home Town on Parade

I smashed my thumb in a windowsill
At that big church up on 10th street hill
Where I got a shot in my ass
So I could start second grade
And this is my home town on parade

And now I'm passing Lover's Lane
The worst street to ever have the name
There was no place to park
No place to get laid
And this is my home town on parade

I use to walk to Berjuan park
I would drink vodka in the dark
I'd go there with my friends
Whenever we got paid
This is my home town on parade

And now I wonder why
I felt I had to leave
Being here once again
I get lost in my memories

And there's the place I almost died
In the back of a pickup. What a ride!
Being chased by rednecks
In a Chevrolet
And this is my home town on parade

I really enjoyed this one, Piggie - Outstanding acoustic playing. Great picking and singing!

Oh, and any song with Vodka in it is a good one in my book!  ;D

Only 41 more weeks to go!!!

Great visuals, Piggie! Real stories and flashbacks, expressed so clearly, make a great song. I'm sure this could have been a 20 minute anthem, if you wanted it to be. LOL! Nice work.

There are only three kinds of drummers. Those who can count, and those who can't.

The lyrics really make this, they are EXCELLENT. Really good idea that is carried very well through the whole song. The song is great but the lyrics stand out for me on this one. Great songwriting.

Cheers,

Nigel
