How did you select a guitar effect on you BR while using the mic option?
Or did you use an external mic.

It's easy, and all done through the onboard mic. When you look at the effects screen, shift the arrow key far left to select the bank of effects you want. It means you can use any of the guitar, mic or line-in effects for whatever input you have selected. It was a revelation when I found that out!
