I see your car keys on the table
And I can see the bed unmade
Your breakfast dishes lie about
And I slowly feel afraid

Are you gone, why did you go?
Did someone wait for me to leave?
Did you step out with some man?
Somehow I just cannot believe

I came home but you just aren't here
And somehow I expect you to appear

Where'd you go, what did you do?
And do you know that I miss you?
Three little words that you would say to me
Why can't I say them too?

Then you walk in through the door
You came home from your walk
And I pretend I didn't care
That you went around the block

I came home but you just aren't here
And somehow I expect you to appear

Where'd you go, what did you do?
And do you know that I miss you?
Three little words that you would say to me
Why can't I say them too?

PFJ your songs just keep getting better .I don't know how you come up with a new one each week! I struggle just to finish one per month.Nice vocals!!

Piggie,

Very nice song.  I admire your ambition.  I aim to write a song a month, but haven't been able to keep it going.  Weekly would probably keep me more "in the mode" (but I wouldn't get any paid work done).

I'm listening to your jukebox and really enjoying it.  So far I think that this is my favorite.

P.S. You're probably familiar with Jonathan Coulton's famous "Thing a Week" project, which was to record something every week.  He snuck in some covers, and some songs he'd written previously, but the pressure helped him to write some real gems.
