ORH did the amazing vocal and synth.  I added e-guitar, piano and bass.  I tried a few different things and this is what ended up sticking.  I tried to leave Jim's vocals front and center, that is the real star of this piece.  Good god man what a vocal.

i must admit when i sent this to bb i worried cos i never used a click track and my tempo is all over the place i am slowly coming to terms with that and each listen i grow to love this one a little bit more with each listen.
i gave bb a very hard task on that score and he has gone with it full throttle plus myself and gritter turned him onto daniel johnston so he went with the off kilter rhythm akin to said daniel, as i said i wasnt sure abut this approach and on the first few listens wanted to redo it to a click track but the more i listen the more it grows. so if like me if you dont get it first time bear with it an listen again and again.
in many other threads ive said all the songs that stay with me are songs i didnt get on the first listen but after a few listens they started to grow on me, i think peter gabriel said something similar. i think this is gonna be one of them.

dave i love you.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

I think Peter himself would love this...simply stunning - askew is always a good thing - the power of the song shines through - how about Salsbury Hill? ;D
