Got tired of the standard drum sound so tried something different on my Alesis Dm5.

Are the drums a preset pattern or do you have to proramme them?  A very authentic sound.

The Dm5 is an electronic drum set not a drum machine (you can use the drum brain with a midi sequencer or midi keyboard too according to the manual), I just set my snare drum pad to the conga patch and used the rimshot sensor as the slap.

Just had a look on the alesis web site.  Looks like (and sounds like) a marvelous kit.  If I win the lottery I willl get one - not that I can play drums at all. 

Many years ago the drummer in a band I was in had a Simmons (Simmonds?) kit.  Sounded good, but not really like a real kit.  Technology has moved on a lot since then.

yeah electric kits are a blast. the best part is I can practice at midnight and not have my neighbors call the cops.
