What a fantastic song. I didn't know this one. The Beefheart orig is so early 70's in its style but it still stands up today.

the original was the first beefheart song i ever heard, head under the bedclothes ear to my old transistor radio listening to the john peel show, lost count of the bands the good mr ravenscroft introduced me to.

he was the first to give airplay from everyone from hendrix to joy division and beyond.

just heard the news that the good captain passed away today, this cover of his song was the first song i ever heard  of his, hiding under the covers at bedtime listening to the john peel show on my wee transistor radio.
