Was the first Beefheart song I heard too.  In fact I think it's the only one I know really, which annoys me because I love that song.  Must find the time to hear more. Also it reminds me of the time I visited the Griffith Observatory while in LA, back in the nineties (I used to work very near where Mr Griffith was born, in South Wales).

Not heard your version before Jim, and it's a good'un.
