nothing is real... So theres nothing to get hung about!

Greeny

I bloody love it. I love Syd-era Floyd, and this is a totally kick-ass cover. Beautiful touches with the pump organ (sounds a bit rude, lol) and harmonies. I love the psychedelic meandering of the organ in the middle. Hell, I love all of it. Wonderful!

cuthbert

Wow, thanks very much to everyone for the nice feedback...I appreciate it!

BB, Tharek, chapperz66, and Tim - I'm glad you liked the harmonium bits. An eccentric instrument, for sure, but I tend to find charm in these kinds of things. I've had it for just a couple months, and this is the first time I've recorded anything with it; no doubt I'll be using it again!

A couple of somewhat sinister-sounding vocal tracks were courtesy of physical exhaustion after two days of pumping out my flooded basement. I think I may have been hallucinating during those last couple of recordings...  :D

I hope this site is around for a long time to come - there's such a generous and talented community here, and stumbling upon it last summer was one of the best things to happen in quite some time.

cheers,

A cool collection of sounds on this one, including the unique vocals and percussion. Love the harmonium too.

These days I merely dabble at being old and wise.
But I swear, I used to absolutely excel at being young and stupid.

This is so true to the spirit of Syd that it blew me away. The harmonies are fantastic and you even sound like him! The backing is fantastic, so imaginative, I'm sure Syd imagined it this way during an acid trip! Door slam and chain rattle? Just love that. And the harmonium? What a great choice, it sounds like a synth!

Fantastic Cuth, just fantastic. This song is one of my all time faves as well, like Greeny I am a BIG early Floyd fan so trod with fear here. But this was a real pleasure, well done indeed!!!

Cheers,

Nigel
