I love this song and it's a real treat to hear oldrottenhead singing it. And Geir, your acoustic guitar sounds great in all of your songs. Whatever mic placement, levels, EQ, etc. you're using, keep doing it that way because it really works!

O ye'll tak' the high road and I'll tak' the low road
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye
But me and my true love will ne-er meet again
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomon'.

That's another great song I'd love to hear you sing, Jim.

Quote from: oldrottenhead on February 28, 2010, 10:08:35 AMbloody hate that one 64 lol. especially when run rig do it lol.

I'd never heard of Runrig so I just looked them up. I agree with you about their version - I don't like it either. But I've always liked the song. We used to sing it in school when I was a kid. And I have an instrumental version by Celtic Spirit ("Woody" from Bay City Rollers) that I really like a lot.

I was surprised to read that Bruce Guthro is in Runrig. Many of you have probably never heard of Bruce Guthro but I expect that Bluesberry has. I used to enjoy watching his "Songwriters Circle" on CBC. But what's a guy from Cape Breton doing in a Scottish folk rock group? Weird.
