Actually I deal with this sort of thing from time to time at my work. The reason it mentions WOW a lot is because it is a plant for a gold farming site for games like World of Warcraft (WOW), and others. These companies set up shop and hire people to play these games. hey amass gold, items, weapons, etc and sell them for real money to people who play these games, but don't want to get the items themselves. Some will also take your account, and level up your player for you for a fee. 

They can destroy an online game economy if the game company does not keep them in check somehow.

For someone like this, they make an account, go on a site and post these "ADs", knowing full well they'll get banned, but that's what they get paid to do.
