jimminy crickets Rick. This is a fantastic piece. When you jumped into the biting lead.... it set the soul on fire. You want tips? keep cranking out music. This is top shelf.

QuoteSomeday I hope to improve to the point to where I really am comfortable and can get it down in one take.

I'm not sure there are many here that can do that. you have to be thinking 5 licks ahead of where you're playing, and intimately familiar with the piece you are playing on.

I'd be afraid to reach that level to be honest. Then what?

A fine composition, Rick. I don't think you need any particular tips on your soloing. Sounds good to me.

And good luck with doing a song in one take. Best I could do a complete song was four takes. Worst was over thirty recordings before I was satisfied what I did. I accumulated nearly two gigabytes of files before that tune was finished. All but one went into the trashcan after it was done.

Just found this, fantastic playing.  Bonamassa just kills me, he is so frigging good.  The only thing I would say is maybe give yourself some more compression.  Bonamassa has this tone that just pops out of the speakers, a lot of compression I think.  Your playing here is on the money, the build up into intense full-on and then pull back is essential, and you got it good.  Sounds really good to me.

Alternate Tunings: CAUTION: your fingers have to be in different places
